SoEcology Ltd was set up by Ecologist Sophie Zardis in Spring 2020. Sophie studied at Plymouth University and has a bachelor's degree (BSc) in Environmental Science and a master's (MSc) in Environmental Consultancy.
Since 2013 Sophie has worked full-time as an Ecologist and Senior Ecologist in private consultancies and has managed a wide range of developments, from homeowner proposals to 1000+ housing development schemes. SoEcology Ltd focuses on smaller schemes, but still remains involved in larger developments as a subcontractor, on behalf of larger ecological consultancies.
Sophie is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) and holds class licences for bats (level 2), bat Earned Recognition (Level 1), and great crested newt (level 1). Sophie is also a registered professional under the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and Personal Track Safety (PTS) on the railways, including third rail. Sophie is a capable botanist and can undertake UKHab surveys to Level 5 and condition assessments for Biodiversity Net Gain.
