SoEcology primarily provides ecological surveys and assessments for planning applications. SoEcology also has experience managing biodiversity enhancement projects and offers a freelance service to ecological consultancies. Our clientele includes homeowners, housing developers and public bodies.
To accord with relevant legislation and policy, planning permission will only be granted once all potential ecological impacts are scoped out or appropriately mitigated. We always make time to explain the ecology requirements associated with a planning application and pride ourselves on our transparency and quick response times. Please browse through our menu at the top of the page for guidance on the survey and reporting processes and survey calendar.
The majority of SoEcology’s work is in bat mitigation and as we aim to provide a positive contribution to biodiversity we offer free post planning monitoring to identified bat roosts we manage the mitigation for. The data attained from such monitoring visits will help us make informed decisions on mitigation measures, increasing the chance of successful re-occupation of bat roosts.
SoEcology's long-term aim is to provide a positive contribution to biodiversity through education and research, funded by the ecological consultancy service.
